NFT Journey
I'm Vicki a landscape photographer from Perth, Western Australia. I've a passion for capturing the beauty nature gifts to us. I am lucky to live by the ocean which is where most of my images come from.
I came into photography in 2016 following a few years where I let grief and previous traumas consume me. I started with an iPhone on a bowling green on holiday in South Australia with friends who were competing in the National Police Lawn Bowls Comp. I watched the most beautiful sunset and the next day I spent 10 hours walking, discovering and shooting, I continued every day from then. I went on to achieve honourable mentions in the International iPhone Awards & Australian Photographer of the Year and I also came pretty close to an Apple billboard. In 2019 I switched to the Nikon Z6 and learned photography all over again! I’m lucky to have been featured by Nikon & an image used in their 10 Years of My Nikon Life celebration. My photography leads into a long term plan for when I retire, I have another decade or so to learn so much more. The plan will combine my experience working in NFPs, marketing and of course photography and now NFT photography fits perfectly into this very long-term plan. I came into the NFT photography space on Twitter in mid-2021 completely blind, I spent time observing and learning & making some fabulous new connections with fellow photographers. I secured my account on Opensea in August 2021 and I minted my first images on 17 October 2021 and then on Foundation on 13 November 2021. |
I started to speak up in spaces in November 2021 which for me was the hardest part, I struggle to speak about my work, no matter the amazing support I have.
My images are the light that has brightened my world. I started a blog to touch on a few stories, for anyone that's interested. Through-out the collections I’ve presented a range of pricing and image formats to suit different scenarios, so hopefully there is something for everyone. The images I shoot (other than a few common locations) are all unique 1/1, single image shots, a few have challenged that but unless you were standing on my shoulders these moments in nature can never be captured again, the clouds never repeat the exact pattern and the waves lapping the shoreline have their own identity each time. My NFT photography has been displayed at Sydney NFT and soon to be on display at NFT Liverpool, which is pretty exciting! I offer an optional un-framed professional print on ilford smooth pearl: 40cm on longest edge and a small personal gift from me to each first collector.
